- Yes, and they melt!

- They're chasing you.

- I have to escape!

- You're paralyzed. You can't move.

- Huh?

- You fall. You lose your keys. You're back at school but you can't find your classroom. You give birth to a child who looks like your father.

A Dream Play at Malmö Dockteater is a very free interpretation of August Strindberg's classic. The performance is based on lines, fragments and characters from the original play and spins out into dreamy clichés, litanies and platitudes from the one-dimensional contemporary world.

Characters and situations appear and disappear. From different angles, a world is depicted that seems to be emptied of content. Or that has become a parody of itself.

With black humor and drastic twists, Erik Holmström has written and directed an absurd play of grief in which the two actors, Evamaria Björck and Nils Dernevik, carry out a Calvary walk on acid.

To quote Strindberg's preface to the original: "Everything can happen. Everything is possible. And probable. Time and space do not exist!".
